This is a draft placeholder, not a final legal document. StreetCam.ca must undergo formal legal review before any production use. Nothing below should be treated as binding until that review is complete.

1. What StreetCam.ca is

StreetCam.ca is a platform that connects voluntary camera owners with verified investigators for case-specific, time-limited footage requests and AI-assisted search. It is not a public surveillance system and does not provide unrestricted facial-recognition search.

2. Camera owner responsibilities

You are responsible for complying with applicable recording laws in your jurisdiction, including any notice requirements. Camera registration does not guarantee that footage exists or will be produced for any request.

3. Investigator responsibilities

Investigator accounts require agency verification. You may only create cases and requests for which you have genuine legal authority, and you must not use the platform to search for individuals outside an authorized case (see the Acceptable Use Policy).

4. No legal advice

StreetCam.ca does not provide legal advice. Law-enforcement access rules vary by jurisdiction. Emergency access requires separate, approved procedures outside this platform.

5. AI results

AI-assisted search results are unverified investigative leads only. They may be incomplete or incorrect and require human verification before any use as evidence.

6. Changes

This document will be replaced with a reviewed, binding version before any production deployment.
