For Law Enforcement

StreetCam.ca is built for verified investigators working authorized cases — not for open-ended search.

What you can do

  • Create a case with a case number, incident description, legal authority, and bounded search area/time.
  • Request footage from cameras whose location may overlap your case's search area.
  • Search uploaded footage using approved AI filters (vehicle, clothing, object, direction of travel).
  • Review possible matches, add notes, and export approved evidence packages.
  • View your own audit history at any time.

What you cannot do

  • Browse cameras outside an approved case's area and timeframe.
  • Access another agency's case.
  • Run facial-identity searches — not implemented in this release.
  • Treat an AI match as proof of identity or guilt.

Getting your agency verified

Investigator accounts require agency invitation and verification — they are not self-service. See Agency Verification to start your agency's onboarding. This workflow is being built in a subsequent development phase; in the meantime, contact us via the Contact page.

This platform does not provide legal advice. Law-enforcement access rules vary by jurisdiction, and a lawyer and privacy professional must review this system before production or operational use. Facial recognition is not enabled.
